I'm currently living in London getting my MA in classical acting for professional theatre from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, better known as LAMDA, the alma mater of Benetict Cumberbatch. I had the fortune of meeting him this year and he said "good luck and I hope to work with you someday"...ok so maybe he said it to the majority of the LAMDA student body, but we shook hands and I'm just going to pretend he was saying it straight to me. I'll be back in the states and employable after gratuation September 2016!
This is me rehearsing Much Ado About Nothing on The Globe stage!
My Story, so far...
I'm an American-Chilean and grew up on the beautiful gulf coast beaches of Panama City, Florida. From an early age I was interested in performance, although slightly devistated after being told I couldn't be a mermaid when I grew up I quickly set my sights on acting and dancing with the hopes of someday being able to play a mermaid...which has yet to happen. Growing up in a multicultural and bilingual home planted the seeds for my love of travel and expiriencing different cultures, which ultimately led me to New York where I recieved my BFA in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. During my time at NYU I stuided at the Stella Adler Studio and at the International Theatre Workshop in Amsterdam. After graduating with honors my focus shifted to devised experimental theatre, performance art, and contemporary dance. In 2014 my travel bug started to itch and so I was off to Thailand where I got my 200 hour yoga teacher certification which led me to a wonderful gig teaching yoga with the movement staff at my alma mater Stella Adler. After a couple of years of hustle in New York and with some downtown and off-broadway credits under my belt I started to look for more work in the regional circut. I've worked two consecutive summers with the Texas Shakespeare Festival and at the Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville, Florida doing the world premire of Jon Jory's "The Two Musketeers". Now my journey has landed me in London where I am diving into the classical texts of Shakespeare, the Jacobeans, Spanish Golden Age, and French Resoration.
I'll be graduating in September 2016 and am excited to see where my jouney leads me next!
